Electronic Development Labs, Inc. announces the development of the Accu-therm® Portable Temperature Monitoring System with optional RS232 interface. This hybrid of our popular Accu-therm® and a computer interface that allows recording of temperature readings and direct download to any PC, providing valuable data for analysis. Data can then be imported into Excel or other programs for use in charts, graphs, or tables. The Accu-therm® is a unique instrument that combines a rugged and reliable pyrometer with a thermocouple switch. Accu-therm® pyrometers cover the temperature range of -280°F to +2000°F (-100°C to +1200°C) ±1° and -280°F to +1100°F (-100°C to +600°C) ±1°. The standard instrument monitors 10 zones (20 inputs optional).

The Accu-therm® Portable Temperature Monitoring System is protected by an injection molded case with O-ring and latching cover. The instrument is shock resistant and water resistant when the cover is closed. Accu-therm® instruments have a liquid crystal display with 1/2" tall digits and 1° resolution. The EDL designed CMOS circuitry in these instruments provides stable, fast readings and is designed to perform well in the presence of EMI and RFI. The instrument display is updated every 333 milliseconds to provide a smooth display of temperature with no jumping. These instruments have high input impedance, thus a change in thermocouple resistance of 1,000 ohms introduces less than 1° of error. The optional RS232 output connects on the side of the case and uses a standard DB-9 connector. The included windows based software displays the actual temperature in °C and °F, in real time and displays a continuous temperature graph. Its operation is designed for simple, fast access and only requires entering the range of the graph. Accu-therm® instruments are calibrated and tested for ambient use from -10°C to +60°C. The switches and mini thermocouple jack inputs are on the front panel for easy access. The battery compartment is easily accessible for fast battery replacement when needed. All EDL products are traceable to the National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST). These instrument are also backed by an unconditional one year manufacturer's warranty and are engineered to function flawlessly, the Accu-therm® Portable Temperature Monitoring System can assist in recognizing potential problem areas in numerous temperature related applications for peak performance, production, and efficiency.
